How We Make Money

ToolAudit is independent and ad-free. Here's exactly how we stay that way—and why it never compromises our reviews.

Our Revenue Model

We earn money two ways: affiliate commissions when you sign up for tools through our links, and sponsorships from companies who want visibility on ToolAudit. We previously offered a Pro tier and we’ve paused it while we focus on the publication. No single revenue source can pressure our editorial integrity.

Affiliate Links

When you click a "Try [Tool]" button and sign up, we may earn a commission. This never affects our scores. The commission is built into the tool's business model, not added to your cost.

We recommend tools we'd use ourselves. If a tool isn't worth your time or money, we won't recommend it—commission or not. Every review is based on our methodology, our testing, and our standards. An affiliate link is just how we make that recommendation sustainable.

Pro Subscriptions (Paused)

We previously offered a Pro tier with deeper analysis features. We’ve paused it while we focus on the publication itself. If we re-introduce it, it’ll be additive—never a paywall on the audits or comparisons that are currently free.

Sponsorships

Sponsors get visibility. A sponsored placement on ToolAudit means your tool appears in a dedicated section, clearly labeled as "Sponsored." But it does not mean a favorable review.

A sponsored tool is evaluated with the same rigor as every other tool. We'll give honest feedback on what works and what doesn't. Sponsors understand that trust—ours and our audience's—is worth more than inflated scores.

What We Don't Do

Our independence is defined not just by how we earn, but by what we won't do for money:

We don't accept payment for higher scores.

Every score is based on our methodology. No money changes that.

We don't charge tools to be listed.

If a tool is published and in our category, it's on our site. Period.

We don't gate negative reviews.

If a tool has limitations or problems, we say so—for free.

We don't hide conflicts.

If a sponsor is also a tool we review, that's disclosed. Always.

How We Maintain Trust

Every review on ToolAudit follows the same methodology. Learn how we evaluate tools, weight different factors, and ensure consistency across thousands of reviews.
